ILLEGAL HUNTING

Hunting is prohibited in Parnitha. Nevertheless, several cases of illegal hunting have been noted, with mostly birds, hares and deer as victims. Unfortunately, Parnitha is too expanded and the personnel of the Forest Service inadequate for the mountain's surveillance. These facts result to the escape of many hunters. It is a problem that can be handled though, if the public is aware of it and by appropriate technical substructure and increase of human resources of the Forest Service.

The Hellenic Federal Hunting Guard offers significant help, by conducting frequent patrols on the whole mountain's range.

forbidding sign

shells on the groundIn areas where hunting is allowed, this unacceptable sight is created, with shells fallen on the ground. We hope that the hunters will be more sensitive in this issue and they will be more cautious when they visit Parnitha for such activities.
